Your
Bonus Program 4.)
Burn CDs With NO PAUSES Between Tracks.
First Musical commandment. "Thou shall not kill
the mood." And now gaps won't kill your musical mood any longer. It took
me 2 years to pull this off. No pause, no gap, no break
CDs, are awesome for a lot of reasons
Some Beatles and Grateful Dead
recordings had no breaks between tracks.
Live concert recordings have no breaks.
Your own mixes where you fade one song into the next song, crossfades, have no
breaks.
Church ministry tapes have no breaks.
Motivational and spiritual tapes have no breaks.
Books and readings have no breaks.
Presentations have no breaks.
For all of these reasons and more, you want to have no breaks, pauses or gaps
between your tracks. Our Track Trackers don't put in pauses, just breaks so now
you can have no pause CDs from now on. But, you do want to have tracks because
you can't fast forward or rewind a CD.
So, if you don't have tracks, you simply can't jump from place to place. Now you
can have tracks with no audible pause or break at all. Plus this new CD Burner
will also write the new CD Text so that if you have a compatible player you can
actually see the album and track names as you've written them to CDs.

New Batch Transformer Makes Short Work OF Batch Effects Conversions, MP3
Batch Tagging For An Entire Album & MORE!!!
|
We've had batch converters for several years that could convert Wav to MP3
and MP3 to Wav. We've even had the ability to batch apply some effects, one at
a time. Now we've more than gone crazy with what you can do hassle free with your
files.
First, the whole idea of a Batch Transformer is to do an operation once and have
the Batch Transformer do it to 2, 5, 10 or 100 files at the same time. So this
takes most of the work out of converting files or batch tagging them or anything
you want to do to multiple files. OK let's check out the highlights.
Arrow 1.) Batch convert just about any group of WAV files to MP3 in any
bitrate you like or a bunch of MP3s to WAV fast and easy. Arrow 2a.) Choose any effect here in
the list, OR CHOOSE AS MANY AS YOU LIKE to apply to the files you've loaded. So
you can normalize them all, you can amplify them all and you can add echo or even
use any of the filters on them all. So unlike prior versions, you can do as many
effects and filters as you like at one time. You're not limited to one effect
or filter. This is all new. Arrow 2b.) And it gets much better.
Now for each effect that you put a check in the checkbox, you'll get a drop down
menu that lets you specify how much of the effect you want to apply. If you choose
10 effects or filters, you'll get a separate pull down menu to choose how much
of EACH you want. This is all new.
Arrow 3.) If you use iTunes or any other MP3 jukebox on your computer you're
going to love the time you save with the Batch Tagger. So picture this. A record
or cassette has 10-15 or so tracks. Why type the album info, artist info, year,
Genre and comments for each. Type it one time only here and batch tag
the entire group at one time fast and easy. Arrow 4.) Many of our
DAKonian friends use our system for converting Church ministry tapes they give
away or motivational tapes they sell. OK what you can do in this section is use
a common Intro, a common Exit or a Mix over all the tracks you are converting.
So if you have an introduction or some standard music for the beginnings or ends
of your CDs or MP3 files, you can just load them here and every single track you
convert can have the same introduction, ending or mixed background track. Or all
3. This is super powerful and 100% all new.
Oh, there's more, like giving all the tracks a common name and numbering them.
But now you know the highpoints of DAK's all new dramatically improved Batch Transformer.

Tune Library Automated Jukebox.
Like Channel Surfing ON TV, Now Surf All Your Tunes.
 |
Now you're just a click away from listening to any tune you own. Load them
in the Tune Library and play them, sort them, enjoy them. Now you'll have all
your tracks at your instant control.
Here's what I love to do. I just surf from one track to another. No CDs to load.
I take a track from the Limeliters, one from Oliver and one from Annie Get Your
Gun. Here's the point. When you load CDs, you can play any track
on the CD with just a click. But when you open the DAK Tune Library Jukebox, you
can have all your tracks that you own ready to 'channel surf'. It really is literally
every track you own ready to play with just a few clicks.
This is AWESOME.

Your

Rip
CDs To Your Hard Drive - With 'Benefits'.
|
DAK's CD Ripper is special. It's like the line, "friendship with benefits".
It does much more than just Rip CDs. Why do you want to rip CDs to your hard drive?
With DAK's ripper you can rip CDs to your hard drive to edit them, make compilations
with tracks you've copied from LPs and cassettes and much, much more. Many DAKonians
need to change the speed, add a measure or take out a measure for dance or exercise
routines or to use extracted melodies in your PowerPoint presentations, for ring
tones or for many other reasons. With DAK's Editor which you're getting with the
system, you're not locked out of your music any longer.
Most modern CD Rippers will rip CDs to your hard drive and even name the tracks.
No big deal. We add 2 big extras that are really worth having. If you're ripping
to put tracks in your MP3 player, then you'll love the fact that the ripper can
apply all the MP3 tags for most CDs. It's a great time saver to have all the tags
added automatically for you. And the big, big deal is 'Preserve Track
Order' which is something I invented. Here's the problem. When you load anything
in Windows it alphabetizes it. Then you'll find that the Overture is with the
Os, not at the beginning. All the songs on a CD that were in one order on the
CD, will be alphabetized on your computer. It's a big problem. But we have the
only solution I've seen.
When you rip CDs using my Advanced Ripper (we give you a simple one too), or if
you use the DAK Playlist Manager, we add a number ahead of the track name as we
rip so that Windows can't mess with the order of your tracks ever again.
It's a perfect solution to a Windows Problem. Now you'll have the tracks you want
in the order you want them from now on, on your computer, in your MP3 player or
anywhere you take them.
|
Your
Bonus Program 8.) Is A 2nd CD Writing Program
Make MP3 CDs & Back Up Your Tracks Big Time On CD or 4.7 or 8 Gig DVDs. Plus
Blue-Ray Too.
|
I hope you're good about backing up the files on your computer. After all,
it's all about the music. And, you don't want to lose yours. We've had an MP3
CD burner in the Editor for a year. But this one adds the latest powerful folder
feature too.
You can burn folders of MP3 tracks to CD, organized by artist or album and then
it's easy to navigate to the artist or album you want. 10 hours of tracks on a
CD is great. But it's even better when each folder is easy to get to and organized
like you want it. More and more car players support folders so I wanted to have
this powerful new feature for you now too.
But backing up your tracks fast and easy is the thing. Our New CD Writer
Advanced Program not only writes to CDs, but also 4 and 8 Gig DVDs and Blue-Ray
too. Now you can put 4 Gigs of your treasured tracks on a 25 cent DVD or over
8 Gigs of your music on a $1.25 8 Gig DVD.
Now you can make fast easy backups of your tracks hassle free. Just load then
in DAK's new CD & DVD burner and you're all set. Oh, and we support the new
Blue-Ray too, but those 25 Gig discs are still a bit rich for most of us.
My Green Arrows show that I've put 1114 MB of files with 3374 MB left to fill
out of a total of 4488 MB on my DVD. Wow, CDs seem so outdated now.

Song
Stalker Internet Recorder
Silence Seeking Program
|
This is the Holy Grail of Internet recording. Get separated tracks as you
actually record. And the Song Stalker is the best of the best I've seen. As you
record and as the Song Stalker sees the silence between tracks, it automatically
closes each track it's recording and begins a new track.
The Song Stalker is an Internet Recording Program. For records and cassettes
like any other silence sensing recorder clicks, scratches and hiss make the Track
Tracker above the better choice. But for digital Internet recording the Song Stalker
shines.
Plus the Song Stalker will automatically save your tracks in the folder of your
choice and not only does the Song Stalker automatically number the tracks for
you, but it lets you assign a prefix name so you'll easily and effortlessly know
what you've recorded and where it is. It's actually a separate program that's
now built into new DAK Wave & MP3 Editor/Recorder Pro.
The Song Stalker continuously monitors the Noise Floor of your music and looks
for the silence that connotes a track separation. When it finds the silence,
It creates a New Track.
It Names Your Track With a Prefix
And It Numbers your track for you.
It's like a robot that essentially presses a virtual stop button, names and
numbers the track, clears the screen and starts recording a new track. Wow, it
does a lot. And it does it all without you.
It's very sophisticated. But in short it looks for silence. It uses very sophisticated
algorithms to determine what silence really is. And it does a really good job.
It often reaches a totally automatic success rate of 7 or 8 tracks out of 10.
But have no fear. You can separate the few remaining tracks using the Wave Editor
itself or the all new Track Tracker technology that's just been added to the DAK
Wave & MP3 Editor/Recorder Pro.
Using the Song Stalker is super easy and super fast. And the recordings will be
flawless digital copies of whatever you want to copy.

DAK's
NEW PLAYLIST MANAGER
PRESERVE TRACK ORDER WONDER
 |
The problem. Windows
sorts all the tracks on your computer, in your MP3 player and when your burn CDs
alphabetically. That's
not the order you want for your musicals, symphonies or any of your tracks to
be in. For a musical, you want the overture as the first track.
For a symphony, you want the first movement. And for your favorite, folk, jazz
or rock songs, you want your tracks in the order they were in on the CDs, LPs
or cassettes. Till
now, this was an unfixable Windows problem. Now, when you EITHER rip
a CD or open a group of files from your hard disk, the Preserve Track Tool will
assign a number prefix in front of the track name so that even when Windows sorts
it, your track will stay in perfect order.
It looks like this (see left arrow in picture above): 01My Track Name
02My Track Name.
But that's not all. If you have tracks from different albums you can tell the
Preserve Track Tool to assign a common Prefix so all the tracks stay not only
in track order, but with the album they belong to like this: FirstAlbum
01Track Name
FirstAlbum 02Track Name
SecondAlbum 01Track Name
SecondAlbum 02Track Name
DAK puts your tracks
in perfect order and keeps them there in your computer, when you copy your tracks
to MP3 players and when you burn CDs. This is a major new breakthrough in Digital
music enjoyment.
Preserve
Track Order In Action

Here's a real life EXAMPLE
you can do yourself of Windows Sorting that ruins your enjoyment of the music.
I took my copy of Phantom Of The Opera and Ripped it to my computer. What you
see on the left is the actual ripped results that I got and you would get too.
As you can see the Overture came out as track 7. IT'S
THE SAME WHEN YOU COPY LPs, CASSETTES or anything onto your computer. Windows
by default will put it in alphabetical order AND THERE'S NO SOLUTION that I've
found till now. On
the right, you'll see DAK's Preserved Track Order in Action. It adds a small numerical
prefix in front of the name that tricks Windows into keeping your tracks in the
exact order that you want them. It's
simple. It's fast and you can have it added EITHER when you rip CDs, or
use the Playlist Manager to PERMANENTLY CREATE TRACK
ORDER that will never change. It's a whole new world of finally having
your music stay in the order it's supposed to be in from now on.
Print
Tracks & Playlists Instantly.

This is big. Sure using your
burner software you can often print a track list when you burn a CD. But there's
been almost no way to print a track list for the tracks you keep on your computer
or load into an MP3 player.
And, with several hundred tracks
going into an MP3 player these days, how will you ever know what you have? Now
just load the tracks in the Playlist Manager. There's nothing special to do. If
the tracks are on your computer, you can load any MP3 or Wav files. Anyway
Click Print and you'll instantly have the entire list in Window's Notepad. Then
just click Notepad Print for a printed list, or save the file and you can import
the text file into any fancy label printing program you might have. Any good one
does have import. You'll
really appreciate the printed tracks. I carry the printed track lists in my
car for my 12-disc changer and in my briefcase for my MP3 player.
Plus it's great to have on my computer so I can instantly search it to see where
a particular song is located. This is a great tool.
|
I want you to get familiar with the Voice Over PRO interface. It's split into
4 parts. There are 3 Wave Editors, the 3rd of which is the Recorder and the Master
controls.
It's really easy to use and we've made it super easy for you to use it to make
really terrific mixed music and Voice Over recordings. OK here we go:
Arrow 1.) This is the 1st editor. You'll load the background or first layer
of content in this editor.
In other sections we'll explore the details but this is the master where your
final mixed effort will end up. You do the recording in Editor/Recorder 3 below,
but the final mix that you'll save will be here, in what we call Master File 1.
Arrow 2.) This editor works for playing exactly like 1 above. Honestly,
most of the time you won't use this because you'll probably be just mixing two
files at a time. But, when you want to mix 3 stereo tracks together, this is where
the 2nd track will be loaded. And remember your Voice Over PRO like any other
Multitrack Mixer keeps each of the 3 stereo (6 Mono) tracks totally separate but
100% synced till you click Mix.
Arrow 3.) This is the recording Editor. It's very similar to the two editors
above, but it adds live recording capability. This is where you'll record with
your microphone or other source. And if you want to record many tracks, you'll
record them here then load them into 1 or 2 above to mix them with something new
you record. There are two ways to record, (the two red buttons) but we'll explore
them later.
Arrow 4.) This is the master section. When you click the play button here,
all 3 editors will start to play in perfect sync. This is STILL BEFORE you mix
them and combine them into 1 professional stereo track you can burn to a CD or
create as an MP3. But, when you are thrilled with your effort, just click the
Mix-em button on the far right and then you'll recreate a perfect mixed copy that
will end up in the top window for you to name and save. That's pretty much all
there is to understanding the concept.
It does 100 times more than this, but we'll explore the details in the tutorial
that comes with the Upgraded Wave Editor with Burner and Voice Over PRO.
|
Your
Bonus Program 11.)
It's An All New Powerful Studio PRO
3 Editors Perfectly Synced. - Mix Stereo Tracks, Sing Along,
Speed UP, Slow Down. Mix Like Never Before.
 |
Now you really can get the perfection you want through editing.
Need a trumpet or a piano or a harp? No problem. Add a MIDI track and you can
have a trumpet fanfare or anything you like. And today, it's really hard to tell
the difference between real people played music and the MIDI sounds that are already
part of your computer.
(I've added a midi composer to our 6.1 Editor so you can add just about any instrument
you like to your music, but that's another tutorial. However, the new DAK Super
Mixer is where you can add them in, fast and easy.)
Anyway, so why am I sharing all this? Well, welcome to the new DAK Super Mixer
Recorder. This is my answer to today's recording studios. With DAK's new Super
Mixer, you can mix tracks, alter the speed, add in additional tracks and frankly
do most of what I want to do in one of today's newest recording studios.
So if you're doing narrations, add a trumpet fanfare. If you sing, add your voice,
over and over again to make yourself into a duet, trio or even a whole choir.
It's amazing what you can easily do with your PC. And make no mistake.
Your PC is more than capable of making broadcast quality recordings.
That's simply the wonder of today's technology, nothing to do with DAK. But now
you can record, mix and create wonders that would have taken multi-track recorders,
whole orchestras and tons of us audio editing guys with our splicing blocks weeks
to do.
Now we can all do much more, thousands of times faster and honestly it's easy
to get it right, because you see and hear it as you do it. And just hit Undo and
do it again if the first time it's not the great hit you want it to be. And that's
the key to the all new DAK Super Mixer and Recorder.
Now you can create your music the way you want it. And easily and quickly do your
own post production with your very own Multitrack recorder. This is
the main screen. In reality the DAK super mixer is 3 Wav & MP3 Editors built
into one easy to control interface so that you can mix various sounds, music or
spoken word or both and get effects you could never do without the Multitrack
recording and mixing capability.
Arrows 1.) Here I'm just showing you the 3 completely separate 100%
individually controllable editors. Each is complete and you can play, record,
edit, select, and frankly, just about anything you might ever want to do in a
recording editor.
Arrow 2.) Adjust the Pitch Or Key of your music in real time while it
plays. Now you can mix music that WAS in a different key. Now you can sing along.
Arrow 3.) Adjust the Tempo or Beat of the music without changing the key
or pitch at all. You can do this in real time. Now you can sync tracks that didn't
quite sync before. Now if you have a need for a song to be a few seconds shorter
or longer, you can adjust it so it's just the length of the routine you need.
Arrow 4.) Here's where you can control all 3 Editors at once. You can play
all 3 or just play 2. It's up to you. You can play what you've recorded and if
it's not in perfect sync, use DAK's new Nudge Tool. It's in effects. And I've
written a whole section about it for you. The Nudge tool gives you the power to
sync tracks, even when they're not.
Arrow 5.) This is where you call up the Super Mixer's main mixing panel.
This is where you can choose to mix 1 or 2 of the decks into a 3rd or any combination
with any of the decks. It's super powerful and you can even control the volume
of the mix. This is a digital internal mix that does not require the stereo mix
feature in your sound card.
Arrow 6.) Record Real Time Playback is unique to DAK. What it does,
using Stereo Mix again, is let you play 1 to 3 decks. As they play it makes a
real time recording. And you can adjust the pitch and tempo and or volume in real
time while it records. And you'll get a recorded copy of whatever you've played
with whatever changes you've made. This is great if for example you want to change
the tempo on part of a file, or combine 2 or 3 decks while you alter the pitch
or tempo. It's super useful and super easy to use.
|
|
Wow, Can You Mix Or What? 1, 2 or all 3 Decks.
You Even Control The Relative Volume Of The Mix. |
This is where it all happens. Once you have the editors loaded,
you can digitally mix any combination of the 3 editors and even control the volume
of the mix itself. This is the main super power of the Super Mixer. With just
a few clicks you can mix anything you can load. And since it's digital, it's 100%
clean and perfect.
Look what you can do.
Arrows 1.) This gives you the power to choose which of the
3 editors you want to mix into. What does that mean? Well if you have files in
1 and 2, maybe you want to mix them into 3. And if you also have a file in 3,
then you can mix editors 1 and 2 into the file that's already loaded in 3 and
even control the volume.
Arrows 2.) OK so you've decided which editor to mix into.
Now all you need to decide is if you want to Mix in 1 or both of the other two
editors. It's up to you. Remember there are 3 editors. You're going to mix into
one of them. All you need to decide is if you want to mix 1 or 2 of the editors
into it.
Arrow 3.) So when you mix into the master editor (where the
actual mix will end up) how do you want to set the volume? Normally you might
not need to adjust this at all. But if you want the master to be louder or softer
than the files you are mixing in, this is the place to do it.
Arrow 4.) The time has come. Hit Mix'em and it will instantly
be done. Now just play the results. If you don't love them, no problem, you can
change anything and do it again.
And that's all there is to using the Main Master Mixer in DAK's all new Super
Mixer Recorder.

Track
Tracker - The Really Big DAK Difference.
The Tracker Separates Your Songs Like Magic.
The
5 Track Trackers Do Use The Editor, But Are Separate Programs.
|
OK, it's a fact.
You need to separate the records and cassettes you copy into tracks.
What that means is that each song, movement or chapter really needs to be a separate
individual digital file. You see there's no fast forward or rewind on CDs, so
you jump from song to song, movement to movement or chapter to chapter.
Plus, you make tracks so you're just one click away from keeping the tracks you
want and deleting the ones you don't. Plus, you'll make CDs and MP3s with just
the tracks you want in just the order you want them. The CDs you make
with DAK's system will be just like the CDs you buy in the store with programming
and everything, except they will have the tracks you want in the order you want
them.
Here's What's Bad In Other Systems
Most people don't know about the tracks, so if you get an all in
one copier, either you get no tracks at all, or you have to sit and stop recording
at the end of each song and start again. If you miss one you're dead. It's really
incredibly time consuming and not reliable.
There are software programs where you have to sit and listen for the tracks and
click a track button to make a new track as you record. They are just about like
all in one and require you to monitor everything every single second. God forbid,
you miss a track, you really need to start over.
There are silence sensing programs that listen for the gaps between tracks on
your records or cassettes. We have one too, but we only recommend using it for
Internet recording where there is no noise like hiss or record pops to stop the
sensor from seeing the tracks. We find at best you get 70% of the tracks separated,
then what do you do with the ones that didn't get separated or the ones where
the track was separated during the actual music because there was a quiet part
that the program mistook for a track so you end up with 2 tracks for one song?
Finally there's the old standard. You use an editor and highlight each track visually
and then do a File/Save Select As and give it a name and a place to be stored.
This works great but takes about an hour or so per album. Of course DAK's editor
does this great too. But it's not the best, fastest, or easiest way to separate
your tracks.
Here's What's Really Good With DAK's Track Tracker System.
OK, forget spending an hour, 1/2 hour or even 5 minutes. The DAK Track Tracker
gives you 1st time every time perfect track separations in about 2 minutes. It's
super easy. It works 1st time every time and you'll never go back to manual
track creating again.
All you do is zoom in, click wherever you want a track. Then let the Tracker do
its thing. The whole process takes just about 2 minutes like I said and you'll
have perfectly separated, numbered tracks ready to go. See how easy it is in the
movie I've put right here.
See The Track Tracker Movie. It plays right on your Web page.

No
Wasted Time Baby-Sitting Your Recordings.
Now, It's All Automatic.
|
Don't sit there and monitor your recordings, unless you want to. You don't
have to worry about the end of the record or the end of a tape. Or the end of
an Internet broadcast. Just set the Recording Length Timer and relax. If you get
a phone call, or get distracted or busy, the recorder will stop automatically
for you, no problem.
This is big. It's groundbreaking. It's going to take the hassle out of recording.
We've just added a Set and Forget Timer to the New Wave Editor Pro. Why do you
need it? Now you don't have to baby-sit your recordings. Most LPs are about 20
minutes per side. Cassettes are 30, 45 or 60 minutes per side.
Just choose a time a few minutes longer than the side of your record or cassette.
Click Timed Start, then start your LP or tape and go do something else.
You no longer have to keep an eye on when your recording will be finished. Now
you can simply come back any time. Save your file. Separate your tracks. Edit
out talking. Or, do whatever you want to do with your music. IMPORTANT
NOTE: Intro & Exit Blank Space Is Deleted Automatically. Unlike using
a cassette deck you don't have to sync the start of the recorder with the needle
drop or cassette start. Just leisurely start the recorder and then start your
turntable or cassette deck. Same when you're done. Don't go flying across the
room to stop the recorder.
Why NOT? Well when you use my Track Tracker to separate your tracks, it AUTOMATICALLY
discards all the blank at the beginning and end of your recording. Welcome to
21st century digital recording.
Now you can concentrate on your music, not the act of recording. It's all automated
for you.
I've never seen a Length Timer incorporated into a Wave Editor before. This is
a revolutionary improvement that will really free you to record while you do other
things.
It truly is a mega-time saver for all of us. Now you can convert all your Records,
Tapes and Internet Radio easily and effortlessly without baby-sitting the recording
any more.

Real
Time Recorder, Timed Record & Extended Timed Record.
 |
The real time recorder has been a DAK favorite. It's simple to use. It records
direct to your hard drive with no temp files and it has DAK's no baby-sitting
countdown recording timer so you can just leave and the recorder will record and
stop when it's done.
It's used for recording from the Internet or from records or tapes. It's fast
and easy to use when you don't want to use the editor. And for long recordings,
it's the best as it doesn't save to RAM, it goes directly to your hard drive as
it records.
Plus, now we've added the USB Sound Card Workaround we've developed called Playthrough.
What that does is let you hear the sound of what you are recording during recording
with either the DAK USB sound card audio adapter which we provide for you if you
have a notebook computer, or if you have your own USB Turntable. Now you can actually
hear while you record.
It's a shortcoming of USB sound cards that we've now overcome with our new workaround.
Now you will hear without having to hook headphones or computer speakers to the
DAK Interface Mixer.

Timed Recording- Scheduled Time Record While You Are At Work or Asleep. - Like
A VCR/DVR For Sound.
 |
Don't miss those special shows on the Internet, or playing on anything connected
to your computer. I've added a separated special recorder so that now you can
set a scheduled timer to record that broadcast you don't want to miss totally
automatically. It will start and stop on its own. This is a one event
timed recorder we've added to let you capture those great shows you'd miss while
you're at work or asleep.
And you can connect an AM or FM radio to the DAK Interface Mixer and capture those
shows too. Think of it as a one event VCR/DVR for sound. Now you've got an instantly
available recorder so you won't miss those special shows any more. Then you can
listen to it later on your computer or burn a CD, or put it in your iPod or other
MP3 player and take it with you.

MP3
USB Recorder - Now You Can Hear WHILE You Record With DAK's USB Adapter Or Your
USB Turntable.
|
It's a problem. A USB turntable or our USB audio adapter overrides your sound
card and takes over the audio of your computer. That's great for recording, but
it's not linked to your sound card's connection to your speakers, so while you
can record flawlessly, you can't hear while you record, which is a bummer. That's
one of the major shortcomings of all the USB turntables I've tested.
So till now, we've made it possible to monitor what you record by plugging headphones
or computer speakers into the front of the DAK Mixer Interface. And that works
great.
But now, through some very innovative programming what we are doing is using a
cute little computer trick called Playthrough to overcome the USB sound card shortcoming.
It's really a very neat programming trick or workaround, but what we do is capture
the signal as we record and concurrently send a copy of it to your normal sound
card so you can hear it.
It works perfectly. It has no effect on your recording, or anything else, but
you can hear as you record so no headphones or speakers need to be attached to
our mixer.
Plus this is one really neat recorder. It uses 2 of our new displays. The peak
Reading VUs for record and the Spectrum Display for playback. So while it really
doesn't matter to anyone but me, it's a treat to watch as you record.
Oh, and you can use this recorder and its no baby-sitting timed record for recording
any inputs into your computer or from the Internet too. Just don't click on the
Playthrough Button if you're not recording from USB. It's a very powerful recorder.

new player.
You'll see the file name, tags, number of channels, bit rate and much more. Just

WMA tracks you own.
It's an easy fast way to check out any track on your computer.

DAK's
Easy Audio CD Writer Program.
 |
Your computer came with
CD burner software. And it probably works fine. But, it's probably a general purpose
program that does lots of things other than just burn flawless digital audio CD
copies of your music. Because
it's made to do so many things, it's often hard to find the controls you need
to actually burn audio CDs. You need to be sure to Finalize/Close your
CDs and to lower the burn speed to one half if you are burning for older car,
home and portable CD players.
I've made this CD burner
close the discs automatically so you don't have to worry about it and I've put
the speed control right up front.
And use our Playlist manager
to set up the playlist order, then ours keeps the Preserve Track Order you selected
when you ripped your CDs or used Preserve Track Order in the Playlist manager. So
add a track, a few tracks or all the tracks in a folder or from several folders.
Move any track within the list anywhere you want. Remove any track. And combine
Wave and MP3 files to burn your CDs. It's the easiest CD Burner software ever,
because it does all the heavy lifting for you.

Drew's MP3 Fast Tag Manager & Computer Search. |
DAK's new MP3 Tag Manager and Computer Search program allow you to utilize
the newest MP3 data enhancements plus gives you a simple, convenient and fast
way to search your computer for BOTH the MP3 and Wav files that you might have
misplaced. Plus you can then easily identify where the files are and navigate
to them.
Note: Many of us who convert LPs and cassettes to MP3 and wave occasionally
save a file to the wrong folder or forget where we've saved it. Now your music
will never be lost again. The Tag Manager will scour your computer and find every
track. And it will show you the path to your track so you can open it to edit
or move it if you like.
For the MP3 files, now you can see all the data that's part of the files and even
load, copy and save the album pictures that often accompany new downloads and
MP3 files that you buy. Many of the emerging MP3 players now can show these pictures.
So it's good to be able to edit them, or even export them so you can use them
for CD album covers and more.
So, you can see, change and add tags to any of your MP3 files. You can add album
pictures, or pictures of yourself or kids if you like. Now you're not locked out
of your MP3 files any more. Now you can add, change or alter the tags any way
you want.
Oh, and part of the tutorial for the MP3 Tagger, I show you step-by-step how to
find free album covers on the Internet that you can use for your MP3 files or
to print jewel case covers or CD labels.

Album Maker. What The Heck Does That Do?
Yet
Another Utility That Uses The Editor, But Is Still Important.
|
OK in digital you want tracks, not single file multi-track albums. So frankly
I've had this program on the back burner for some time. Because if you put 5 or
10 tracks together with no breaks or pauses (although you can put in a 3 second
pause by checking a box if you like) you won't be able to program a CD or jump
around to the tracks you actually want to hear. Of course, No Pause Music is great,
but not at the expense of programming and track choosing.
Till Now.
With DAK's new No Pause Burner also included in the new Editor, you can build
albums of as many tracks as you like fast and easy. Then use the DAK Track Trackers
that DO break your masterpiece into tracks, but DON'T put in any pauses.
Finally, use the No Pause burner and you'll have a 100% perfect CD with no pauses
or breaks, but with all the tracks you've put in to let you program your CDs and
jump from track to track any time you like. That's why I've added the Album maker
to the new DAK Editor.
To use it just load your first track into the editor. Then Open the Album Maker
and it will let you quickly and easily add track after track after track. Then
just save the final file and you're good to go. You don't even have to unload
or reload the editor. Just put in your tracks next and burn your CDs. Perfect.
Arrow 1, shows that I've already loaded a 2nd track. Arrow 2 shows the Button
I Click to choose and load the next. I can have 3 second pauses between tracks
or not and I can even have a combination of breaks and no breaks if I like.

There's Never Been Anything Like It.
Drew's Send eMail Thingy. You'll Use This The Most.
Email Songs, Audio Letters, Ringtones & Much More.
 |
OK this is my favorite new toy. Wait till you start using
my all new eMail Thingy. It's slicker than slick. You'll see the very first time
you use it just how fast, easy and fun it is to use. From a whole song to just
a few measures, a few words or a whole speech. If it's in the editor, you can
send it instantly.
As long as you have a local email address, not a webmail email like Hotmail or
Gmail, (Use one of the ones that you got for free from your ISP along with your
Internet connection if you normally don't use one on your computer. If you do
use one on your computer, use the one you already use.) now you can effortlessly
send anything loaded in the editor by email, well to anyone, FAST. And you don't
even need an email program on your computer to send your audio eMails. My new
eMail Thingy does it all in Win 7, Vista and XP.
What if you want to send a few bars of a song? No problem. Highlight what you
want to send. Click Trim, then click the eMail Thingy Icon.
How about an audio email using your voice? What a great way to share emotion with
friends and family, or to give clarification for business. No problem. Just plug
in your Mic, record whatever you like in the editor and click my eMail Thingy
icon. Will you send Birthday or Anniversary greetings? Will you tell a story?
Will you tell a friend how to do something? With my eMail Thingy, it's easy.
Working with a group and want to share? No problem. With my new eMail Thingy,
you'll be sending the fastest best audio emails ever, using your own email address,
right out of the editor.
There's nothing special you need to do. It's all automatic. As long as you have
a local email address, (you don't even have to have it setup on your computer)
you're all set. If you only have Hotmail, Gmail or one of the webmails that you
have to go onto the Internet and sign in to, then this won't work. But you normally
get a bunch of free email addresses with your Internet service. Use one of those,
or use the one you use all the time. One email address is all you need.
OK, here's all you do.
Arrow 1.) It's easy. Load whatever you want to send in the editor. It
can be something you've already recorded. You can record it now. You can edit
it. You can cut it. You can Trim it, or do anything you like. Then, just Click
the eMail Thingy Icon when you're ready.
Arrow 2.) Type In Your eMail address.
Note Only Do It Once: Once you type it in, my eMail Thingy will remember
it for you so you don't even have to type it each time.
Arrow 3.) Type In the person's email address that you want to send your
audio masterpiece to.
Note Send To Lots Of People: Want to send it to 5 people? No problem. Just
type in each email address separated by a semicolon and you can send them all
at once.
Arrow 4) Type a subject for your email, or just leave the Audio Email
Attached that will populate the Subject Line automatically. You can leave it,
change it or do anything you like.
Arrow 5) Type a written message if you like. Not required, but it's usually
a good idea to tell people what you're sending them and maybe why.
Arrow 6) Click Send. My eMail Thingy will do the rest for you.
OK of course you can open your regular email program and attach an audio file.
But where's the fun in that? And it's a lot more steps. You have to actually save
what you want to send in a file. Then open your email program. Then find where
you saved your file and attach it. My eMail Thingy will do all that for you. It's
a real time saver and it's a blast to use.
In short, with 'Drew's eMail Thingy', you'll send out lots of audio emails
to lots of people where it was entirely too much of a hassle to do before.
Note Anyone Can Play Your Audio eMails: Oh, and all the recipient of your
audio eMail has to do is click on the attachment and Windows Media Player or their
default music player will play it for them. That's it. It's totally hassle free.

Learn & Enjoy MIDI. You'll Be Astounded At
What You Can Do. -
Your 175 Hidden Instrument Orchestra
 |
Did you know that you have a 175 instrument orchestra hidden
right in your computer? It's true. You do.
Did you know you could play the trumpet, French horn, oboe, cello and more? Well
you can. Would you be surprised to learn that some of the tracks in the music
you hear on commercial CDs you buy in the store are actually generated by the
same orchestra that's locked in your computer? All 175 instruments
are built right into the sound card in your computer. But most people just
| You're going to have hours of fun creating your MIDI Masterpieces
and years of enjoyment listening to the creations you've made. |
don't know. Most people think you need to buy an expensive MIDI Keyboard to unlock
the sounds. But with DAK's all new MIDI composer, all you need is my program and
your mouse. If you've never tried playing with MIDI before, this is the program
for you.
And even though you may have never known they were there, we really are going
to unlock all 175 instruments with my new, easy to use, MIDI Composer. Now you
can have the power that professional recording studios have to mix MIDI tracks
right into live solo, duet and full orchestral performances. If you sing, now
you can add a piano, string bass and more to accompany you
Now you can add a trumpet fanfare to a song you've just composed. You can add
a cymbal crash. You can add a string ensemble and so much more.
Want a piano to accompany you? Want to add a beat? A Tambourine? A cowbell? How
about an accordion or harmonica? Now it's easy and fast. So What
Is MIDI Anyway?
MIDI is short for Musical Instrument Digital Interface. It's a music industry
standard protocol that lets MIDI instruments, sequencers and sequencer software
(that's what the DAK MIDI composer is) play and record music composed of up to
175 instrument sounds.
You'd be amazed how much of the music you hear every day is written on and played
by MIDI. What you hear on commercial CDs and live performances can be 100% MIDI
or part live instruments and part MIDI.
You really do have a whole orchestra of sounds INDIVIDUALLY at your command.
And just about every computer made can both create and play MIDI. You'll have
hours of fun creating your MIDI masterpieces and years of enjoyment listening
to the creations you've made.
MIDI is super easy to create. It's simple. It's intuitive. Think of it like a
player piano roll that rather than playing just one instrument can reproduce the
sounds of 175 orchestral instruments.
What I really like is that you have such easy and total control over each and
every instrument you choose. You see each instrument separately. You control each
separately so you're really not locked out of your music any more. Each instrument
stays separate in the composer so you can adjust your creations instantly and
easily.
It just takes a mouse click to actually change the instrument that's playing,
the tempo of the music, the key of the music and so much more.
Oh, and one thing people like is that MIDI files are tiny. They are actually text
files so an hour of MIDI music takes almost no room at all. So, What
Will You Do With MIDI?
Well, first, you're just going to have a blast playing with the easy to use
interface. Punch out that song you have in your head. Change instruments. Change
key. It's all just a click away. You'll be amazed when you hear a simple tune
with harmony and so much more. It's so easy and fast. And most of
all it's fun.
But, most of all it's a serious musical composer that you can use in the studio,
even if the studio is in your family room or bedroom. Now you can do what the
pros do, easy and fast.
Do you have any sheet music? Just enter it in the composer and play it and hear
it and enjoy it. You don't need a keyboard. It's all done with just your mouse
and DAK's new MIDI composer.
You Star when you perform (and record). Be a duet, a trio or a whole choir. You
can add and remove individual instruments at any time. So start out with a guitar
and add a bass. Add some percussion. Change it fast and easy. Compose or play
a concerto. You'll be amazed what you can do with this simple unlocked orchestra.
You can arrange your music easily and effortlessly. It's just a mouse click to
change the tempo, transpose the key and do anything to the music you create.
But it's fast. There's nothing you need to do to get started. Just choose and
instrument and click the interface to hear your notes.
OK, let's make some music.

your MIDI Files. Arrow 2.) MIDI Converter - This is where you
can convert your MIDI files to WAV or MP3 files that you can mix into your other
music or use on their own. You can of course record them to CDs or MP3s or do
anything you can do with any WAV or MP3 file or track. Arrow 3.)
MIDI Data Reader - OK this lets you look at the detail of a MIDI File. Normally
you won't use this. If you're a MIDI Pro you might want to look at this detail.
But frankly, everything you need to see is in the MIDI Composer. I just included
this for the super techies. Arrow 4.) MIDI Player - You can play
your MIDI Creations with this cute little player. You can also play them in Windows
Media Player and many other players. But I like this one and you can set up a
playlist and more.

Today
Let's Explore The MIDI Composer.
But Remember, You Get All 4 MIDI Tools.
The Composer. What Do The Buttons And Sliders Do?
 |
OK, Don't spend too much time here. In the next screen I show
you how easy it is to get started with a simple animation. But it's not a bad
idea to take a quick look at what everything is here. I've put names to the buttons
and areas you'll use.
Arrow 1.) Open this box to choose any of the 175 instruments. Arrow
2.) This is where you choose what you want to do. Below I detail it, but here
you'll choose to write music, set a start point, select, copy, paste cut and add
a space in the music. Arrow 3.) You'll see 8 numbered buttons.
Each button gives you a separate MIDI track where you can enter the notes for
an instrument. You can use 2 tracks for the same instrument if you like for example
if you want to play a chord. But for easy understanding, consider each track a
separate instrument that will sync perfectly with all the others. Arrow
4.) Since you can have 8 tracks and some will be playing the same notes, these
8 buttons let you hide tracks so you won't have to look at them when you are writing
music in another track. So say you are using track 4. You can hide any or all
the other tracks so you won't see them. Tip. The program automatically
lightens the tracks you aren't using so they won't bother you. But the hide makes
them completely disappear. Arrow 5.) Just look to this column
to choose which note you want to play. Arrow 6.) Here I'm showing
you want a note looks like. You click or click and drag to make the music that
will play back. Arrow 7.) Here's another note being played. Note
that the red is bright and this one is very light. That's because Button ONE which
is red is selected. It doesn't matter which instrument you assign to a button,
it's the button color that you'll see in the composer. Arrow 8.)
As you play your music, this green cursor will move from left to right showing
you exactly what's playing. Arrow 9.) You can set the tempo here.
Setting tempo affects the speed or beat of the music. It has no effect on the
key of the music. Arrow 10.) You can effortlessly transpose the
key. Just click the up or down buttons to move through all the possible keys.
You can change the key any time you like so you can sing along or play along or
set the key any way you like. |
|
Here's
How Easy It Is.
You'll Love Your New MIDI Results.
Just Watch This Animation
 |
So, just watch my animation. This is all you really need to do
to create your professional MIDI Masterpieces. In short, you choose an instrument
(then more instruments later) put the notes where you want them. And enjoy.
Watch the Animation. This is really all you'll need to learn to use the Composer.
Arrow 1.) Choose the pencil to write your music. Arrow 2.)
Choose any of the 175 Instruments Arrow 3.) Click to make/play
a note Arrow 4.) Click to make /play another note Arrow
5.) Click to make/play another note Arrow 6.) Click to make/play
another note. Arrow 7.) Want a longer note? Click and drag to
make a sustained note as long as you like. Arrow 8.) Click a 2nd
track button to start recording/making another instrument. Arrow 9.)
Choose which instrument you'd like to play. Arrow 10.) Click &
Drag to make/play the note of the 2nd Instrument. Arrow 11.) Click
& Drag to make/play another note of the 2nd Instrument. Arrow
12.) Click Play to Play your masterpiece Arrow 13.) Here I'm
showing you the cursor as it plays your music.
Now you really know all you need to know so you can compose and play your music.
Below I'll go into more detail, but most of us can probably learn what we need
from this animation. |

I
Show You A Few Tricks In The Tutorial
Drew's Trick To Making Quick Perfect Harmony.
 |
OK, I play the Cello. I'm not much of a composer. But I love
to do it and I get a tune in my head that I just have to get out. So, here's my
quick trick for instant harmony.
Just write your notes. Heck it can be Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. It doesn't
have to be fancy. Anyway, all you do is copy the notes 1 or 2 octaves below and
viola, instant harmony. Try it out. You'll be amazed at how rich your music can
sound. Turn a tune into an orchestral chord.
That's it, that's the whole trick. It's just that simple. But it sure doesn't
sound simple. Just wait till you hear the difference. Arrow 1.)
Just click in your notes. Arrow 2.) Copy the notes one or two
octaves lower and change your instrument. The 2C arrows are just to show you how
to find the one octave lower note. It's not hard, just find the same letter with
a lower number. Easy enough? Arrow3.) Do the same thing again.
Change your instrument and go down another octave. Play it back. It will blow
you away. |
|
Another
Drew Trick. Hearing All Your Instruments.
 |
OK this isn't a big deal, but the instruments really do sound
good and you'll never know if you don't hear them. If you click in the Instruments
box, you'll find that if you use your up/down arrow keys you can hear each instrument
instantly as you go.
No need to open and choose. Just keep clicking your arrow key to listen to each
instrument. Now, it plays them all in the same key, so you won't get the full
impact of a tuba for example, but you will sure get a good idea of what each instrument
will sound like on your computer and of course later when you record it and mix
it into other MIDI tracks or into other music that you have. |

THE
DAK WAV & MP3 Editor
Exploration Begins Here |
|
 |
DAK
Effects Just Got Better & Faster Instant Preview Too. Check This Out.
What if you'd like to add some echo? Maybe you want
to increase the volume of a track, add drama by using the expander or cut the
dynamic range with the compressor? Or you can add chorus and make yourself sound
like you're a choir or add delay or any of the effects you see above. It's all
easy. But just having effects in an editor doesn't make them easy to use.
Now you can truly get the full value of DAK's digital effects like never before.
Yes, I'm excited, let me tell you why. In the past, with most good editors you
had access to some or even many effects. But check this out. First,
with other editors, you'd have to choose the effect, maybe even the amount of
the effect, usually with Presets so you have only a few choices as to how much
of each effect you wanted to have. Well No More. I've added continuously variable
sliders so you can get just the amount of any effect you want in 1% increments
without having to settle for the amount in a preset the programmer thought you
might want to have.
Plus, we've also added Preview to the effect. Just click Play and you'll
hear the amount of the effect you've chosen. If you don't like it, just move the
slider and Click Play again.
Now you'll get the exact perfect 1% resolution of the effect you want. No more
guessing. No more wasted hours.
No more loading and unloading and undoing. Just Click Play and you're set.
Then Click Apply only when you're totally thrilled with the micromatic precision
that you've been able to achieve with absolutely no hassle or wasted time at all.
Now you won't have to compromise between how perfect you want your music to be
and how much time you have to waste. Now it's super easy. Now it's super fast.
And frankly if I look in my crystal ball, I don't see any other improvement that
can be made for applying effects and filters that is better, faster or more professional
than this one is.

It's never been this easy before.
Do This. Highlight the area you want to fade. It can be a short area or a long
area. It's 100% up to you. So if you choose a short area you'll get a steep fade.
If you choose a large area you'll get a gentle fade.
Then just choose Fade+ or - and you're done. It's just that simple to make your
own professional, digital, perfect Fade Ins and Fade Outs from now on.
Oh, and you want to do it really fast? Just click the auto-fade and it will automatically

Here I'll Change Isn't Into IS
 |
Wow, can you believe how easy this is to do? You
can zoom in to even 1/4 of a second. You can find just the word, the Ah, UM or
any part you don't like and edit it right out, fast and easy. It really takes
almost no time at all.

And with DAK's new editor, there's nothing to learn that you don't see above in
my little animated picture. It really is just this easy. Of course you don't actually
see the words I've put there for you in red, but you can sure see the waves that
make the words and you'll hear them too.
It really is just this easy to edit. You'll have a ball. I took an old song called
Tell Laura I Love Her and edited out all the unhappy parts (if you know the song
you'll know) and played it for my daughter-in-law, Laura, as a present. We had
a ball.

Virtual
78 Turntable.
Play 78s On Your 45 RPM Turntable
Convert 78 RPM Records
On Your 45 RPM Turntable Like Magic.
Copy Cassettes AT Double Speed 2X And Digitally Decode Them.
 |
If you're like me, you have a bunch of 78s that are just sitting around. And your
really good turntable doesn't play 78s. So, until now, you've had no way to copy
them to CDs let alone listen to them at all.
Now you can. DAK's all new 78 Automatic Virtual Turntable Converter lets
you copy your 78s to your computer and then with a single click, listen to them
again at perfect 78. It's great. It's easy and yes, you can easily restore them
by removing the surface crackle and clicks pops and scratches then burn them to
CDs too if you get DAK's Click, Scratch and Hiss Assassin program offered along
with the Editor.
But what about the Needle? You can use DAK's standard
elliptical diamond stylus to play the 78s. You CAN NOT use a 78 stylus on LPs
as it would ruin the LP. If you have more than about 25 78s, we do have a
78RPM Cartridge that pops onto our PRO DJ turntable. But fewer than that, just
use the stylus we ship and you'll get flawless copies.
OK, here's all you do. Get out your 78 RPM records. And put one on your turntable.
Select 45 RPM and you're set.
Click the Record Button on the Wave Editor/Recorder and then put the needle in
the groove.
 |
| Just
choose 45 RPM on your turntable and your 78s will soon be flawlessly copied to
your computer and on CDs for you to enjoy from now on. |
After you've played one side of the 78, Click Stop, name and save the file.
OK, now the fun begins.
1. Click Effects Menu/Speed Decode
2. Click 78 RPM Converter.
And like magic, the 78 RPM record that you played at 45 RPM will be converted
to the correct speed. Click Play and you'll see how GREAT it sounds.
Save
Time On Cassettes Too.
Now if you have a high speed cassette dubbing deck or a cassette duplicator, just
play your cassettes at double speed and after you record, just click Speed Decode/Half
speed and the cassettes will be digitally returned to normal flawless digital
sound.
Now with the DAK automatic timers and the 1/2x speed decode you really can process
hundreds of cassettes super fast and with perfect fidelity.
Plus, if you've got any old tapes that were recorded at 15/16ths or 1-7/8s, use
the 2X speed decode to return them to normal speed. It's digitally perfect.
So with DAK's automated speed decode choices you'll make digital copies that could
never have been made in analog. And with digital speed decode, there's no loss,
so you'll get 100% flawless decoded copies.

How
Many Colors In Joseph's
Coat Of Many Colors?
How Can You Listen To A Speech In 1/2 The time?
Speed Listening - Transcribing- Changing Key
|
Digital makes all things possible. If you want to
transcribe some lyrics from a song or transcribe a speech, lecture or you name
it, choose DAK's new Stretch feature in the editor.
You'll slow down the talking or singing as much as you want WITHOUT CHANGING
THE PITCH OR KEY. So, if you want to transcribe the lyrics from a song, this
makes it super easy. My wife wanted to make a list of the colors in Joseph's Coat
after we saw the musical. This made it easy.
We saw the Irish Rovers last month and they have a great song called 3 Jolly Rogues
(See my picture). In it they drink about a dozen different types of liquor. It's
kind of like the 12 days of Christmas with different drinks. We'll, we made short
work of that list too. Now we've shared the list with our kids.
And you'll make short work of anything you want or need to transcribe, whether
it's a speech, a song, a lecture or testimony if you're a court reporter. Now
it's easy. Speed it up too. What if you
want to listen to a speech but you don't want to spend all the time it would take.
It's a fact that you actually comprehend better if you speed it up because your
mind doesn't wander when speech is faster.
Speaking is generally slow. Anyway, just slide the slider to make anyone speak
faster and you can listen in the editor or save it as a wav or MP3 file and take
it with you. It's all easy and you'll not only save hours, but frankly be able
to learn things you simply didn't have time for before. And fast
or slow, the pitch/key will stay the same so you'll have perfect intelligibility
regardless of whether you go fast or slow. Stretch Plus and Minus are very powerful
parts of the DAK Wav and MP3 Editor Pro.
Oh and just so you know, there is also stretch with frequency change so you
can also adjust the key or pitch of the music if you like. Then you can sing
along or mix music that 'was' in different keys. It's all in our powerful new
editor.

How
To Select In DAK's Wave Editor.
By The Way, This Is Just One Of Our Tutorial Demos.
Selecting is a basic Windows Function. It's the first
step to using many of the Editor's powerful functions. So, spend a few minutes
getting comfortable making and using selections.
You'll use selections to apply any of the filters, effects and editing powers.
You'll use it to select a part of a file to delete or to copy. And, you'll select
a part of a file or track that you want to save and then by going to File/Save
Select As you will save just that one part without changing the original file
at all.
How do you select?
Put your Mouse Cursor in between the upper and lower tracks. Hold down the left
button and drag till you have the part selected that you want to work on, delete
or alter. It will turn red like you see above.
Then, just choose any function and Left Click it from any of the menus and
the editor will perform the operation you want.
And remember, if you don't like what you've done? No problem. Just click the UNDO
Arrow and it will be undone so you can try again. This makes it really easy, fast
and lets you experiment all you want because for most operations, you're just
one click from undoing anything you've tried. So, don't be afraid to experiment.
It's the best way to learn.

How
To Zoom In DAK's Wave Editor.
By The Way, This Is Just One Of Our Tutorial Demos.
YOU MUST SELECT AN AREA FIRST!
Just watch this animation to see how to zoom in and scroll. You'll see how easy
it is. Note the green bar that you grab to scroll also shows you how far in you've
zoomed, and where you are in the total file. You don't have to estimate where
you want to make that change, take out that word or see if it's a track or a pause.
Just Highlight (SELECT) the area in question as you learned in Selecting above.
Then:
Click The + Magnifying glass and you'll zoom in to see the exact detail you
want to see. There's really no limit to how far you can zoom in.
An Explanation. Zooming in is variable. You can zoom in a little or a lot
and you can zoom in more once you are zoomed in. Here's the deal.
Whatever you highlight when you click the Zoom Button will become the entire
visible screen in front of you. So if you highlight 90% of the screen, you'll
zoom in just a little. You've zoomed in about 10%.
If you highlight only about 10% of the screen then it will expand about 9 times
so you'll see a really detailed view. Try this a few times. There's nothing you
can do wrong. And once you are zoomed in, if you highlight part of what you see
in the window, and if you click the + Magnifying glass again, you'll zoom in that
much more. You'll get the hang of it in just a few seconds.
Special Zoom In Tip: If you click anywhere within the wave windows then
scroll your mouse wheel you can zoom through the entire range of zoomed in states.
It's very fast and the preferred way to zoom.
Special Zoom In Tip 2: In My Zoomed In pictures above, Grab the green handle
to move anywhere in the entire recording. Just because you're zoomed in doesn't
mean you can't look at and work on the entire recording or any part of it. You
can. It's easy. You're just looking at a part of the entire file as you scroll
from end to end.
Special Zoom In Tip 3: Play - At any time you can play anything that's
shown in the window or whatever is highlighted. This way you never have to guess
about what you are looking at. Just click play and you'll know 100% every time.
It makes editing super easy.
Special Zoom Tip 11 Just Added: Now you can use the roller ball on the
top of your mouse to zoom in and out. try it. It will save you hours.

How
Do I Append Or Add To The End Of An Effect?.
OK, so you've got one effect loaded and you want
to put another effect at the end. Of course you can add onto music tracks, voice
narrations or anything, anywhere you put your cursor in an open track. Let's append
a track.
Here's all you do.
Arrow 1.) I put my cursor at the end. Remember that's the dotted yellow
line.
Arrow 2.) I open the Edit Menu and choose Paste from File.
That's it, the 2nd file is appended or pasted into your current file. You can
do this at the end, at the beginning or anywhere within the file. And you can
do it again and again to keep adding to your open file. I think I did it about
40 times to make the sound effects demo you'll hear below.
|
|
 |
Mixing
Sound Effects Or Anything - Easy.
Let's Get A Cat
& A Dog Together To See What Happens.
OK, let's mix two sound effects together. It's easy.
I've already loaded in a Dog barking into the Editor, let's add a Cat meowing.
Arrow 1.) I'm just going to go to the Edit Menu and choose Mix From File.
Arrow 2.) Shows you where your cursor is right now. That's important because
when you mix sounds or paste in a second sound you control exactly where you want
it to start by putting your cursor in the exact spot you want to paste.
|
|
 |
The
Final Mix Is Done Boy It's Noisy Here.
Here's the result of mixing the dog and cat. Arrow
1 shows you where the dog is and Arrow 2 shows you where the cat is.
This is called sound on sound and you can use it to record a music track then
add your narration or singing. It's all very fast and easy in the Editor. But
it's even faster and easier if you use the new DAK Voice Over Pro option in the
Tools Menu.
|
|
 |
Selecting
Dissected And Variable For Precise Edits.
When you select an area to work on, you can then
adjust it fast and easy.
Arrow 1.) This is the selected area.
Arrows 2.) Grab either of the 2 yellow triangles you'll see in the selection
corners to drag to increase or decrease the size of your selection on the beginning
side of the selection.
Arrows 3.) Grab any of the 2 yellow triangles you'll see in the selection
corners to drag to increase or decrease the size of your selection for the ending
side.
Arrows 1a.) At all times you'll see the duration of your selection shown in
this box.

you edit as much as I do, you really need to know how long your file is, how long
your selection is and where the start and end points are. So yes, all the little
numbers at the bottom of the new 6.1 Editor have a meaning. And they make it really
easy for you to see just what's going on. Arrow 1) Length. This
is the length of whatever file you've loaded in the editor. It's really nice to
always be able to see how long your file really is. Arrow 2.) Start.
If you have made a selection, this box shows you the starting time of the selection.
If you haven't selected anything, this will show you the cursor position.
Arrow 3.) End. If you've made a selection, this box shows you the
ending time of the selection. If you have not selected anything, you'll see the
cursor position.
Arrow 4.) Position. This box shows you the current position of your
cursor.
Arrow 5.) Duration. This box shows you in time, the total amount of
any selection you've made. If you want a 27 second selection for example, this
is where to look to see if you've got just want you want. |

But you can add anything you like. The main concept is that whatever you load
with this Menu Item, will be seamlessly placed at the very beginning of the file
with no pops or noises of any kind. Just save the file and you'll have your own
Bumper Music Intros.
Add Music to end of file - Click to add Endings to the end of any loaded file.

The
Effects Menu Explored

Here's a list and description of all the Effects
you can add and control. Try each one so you get a good feeling for what they
do. The top picture of the direct access buttons lets you select effects without
opening the effects menu. Or click effects and choose by name. Add
Noise - Gaussian - Gaussian Noise is an additive random white noise that's
used for base line testing and background noise addition. Add Noise
- White - White Noise is good for testing and backgrounds. It has a uniform
sound energy at all frequencies. Amplify-
- This Decreases the volume of the selected part (or all) of an audio file
when it's time applied. Amplify+ -This Amplifies the volume of
the selected part (or all) of an audio file each time it's applied.
Chorus - Adds a choral sound to voices. Makes it sound like many voices.
Compressor - Reduces the overall dynamic range of music. Difference
between loudest and softest parts. Use this for background music to make it less
intrusive so you can listen without being distracted. It will be less dramatic
and exciting, but, more relaxing and pleasing while you work. Delay
- This Creates a delay effect in a selected part of the file. Delay is an
echo effect that replays what you have played one or more times after a period
of time. This is very powerful because it adds pleasing depth to voices. I just
seem to like the addition of the delay effect to singers.
Echo - This gives you the deep in the well sound. Expander
- Increases dynamic range of music. Difference between loudest and softest
parts. This can make music sound more dramatic.
Fade- - This Creates a fading out (loud to soft) effect in the selected
part of the file. It goes from the current level to 0. It's very powerful because
you control the length of the fade. You can go from 1 second to 20 seconds or
anywhere in between. It's determined by the length of the area you select when
you apply the effect.
Fade+ - This Creates a fading in (soft to loud) effect in the selected
part of the file. It goes from 0 to the current level of the file. It's very powerful
because you control the length of the fade. You can go from 1 second to 20 seconds
or anywhere in between. It's determined by the length of the area you select when
you apply the effect.
Flanger - This is an odd sound that many people refer to as a
"whooshing" sound, or a sound similar to the sound of a jet plane flying overhead.
Flanging creates a set of equally spaced notches in the audio spectrum. Flanging
is created by mixing a signal with a slightly delayed copy of itself.
Insert Silence - You can add different amounts of silence wherever
your cursor is placed. Or you can also highlight a selection and cause the entire
highlighted area to become silent. This is very useful for preserving a time constant
for movies while eliminating sound you don't want. Invert - This
Inverts the selected part of a file. Mix Stereo Channels - You
can evenly mix two stereo channels to get two mono channels which can be very
useful for some musical effects. Normalize - This Normalizes the
selected part of a file. It amplifies the selection part to within the specified
percentage of the maximum level.
Pitch Shift -- This isn't the pitch you use with singing. It's more of
an interesting effect. For Pitch, use the Stretch +/- below with frequency change. Pitch Shift + This
isn't the pitch you use with singing. It's more of an interesting effect. For
Pitch, use the Stretch +/- below with frequency change. Reverb -
Creates an effect like natural reverberations that occur in different rooms and
environments. Reverse - This reverses the file. It plays it backwards.
It's a very interesting effect. Speed Decode - This is DAK's utility
for flawless conversion of speed. Copy cassettes at 2X speed and decode to normal
speed with 1 click. Take tapes recorded at 1.875 and play them at 3.75 and correct
the speed. 78 RPM Converter- All you do is Record your 78 at 45 RPM, then
Click this converter and your 78 will be corrected from 45 RPM to 78 RPM sound
flawlessly. It's amazing. And the sound is nothing less than perfect.
Stretch (w/o freq change) - NO PITCH OR KEY CHANGE. You can stretch
a selected part of a file by time. Speech speed is increased or decreased without
frequency changing. This is useful for dictation or copying the lyrics
from a song. Or it's useful for speed listening where you can listen to
a speech in less time without the key changing. It's very clear and again very
useful.
Stretch (w/ freq change) - PITCH CONTROL Change Pitch or Key. You
can stretch a selected part of a file by a time. Speech speed is increased and
frequency changes. This affects pitch so you can use this to change the pitch
of a singer or musical piece. Time Shift - An
effect that speeds up the sound without changing Pitch. It's like stretch without
frequency change but more of an effect than just a speed change. Vibrato
- This causes a slight variation of pitch. Vibrato equals a cyclical changing
of certain frequencies up and down like trembling. Vocal Reducer
- In a small percentage of music files it is possible to remove the voice
from the music. But it's probably 10% or less of the files. It will work when
the voice is the center channel and the music background is stereo on both Left
and Right Channels. We have never found any system that will do more than this
percentage. Try it but chances are it won't work. Try it, but please don't be
disappointed when it doesn't work most of the time

The
Filters Menu Explored
You can correct problems in your music by reducing
certain frequency groups. This is what's called destructive restoration. So, use
it sparingly. But if you have these specific problems, you'll not hear the loss
that occurs when you use these filters to help repair the audio problems.
Band Pass - This Applies a Band Pass filter to the selected part of a file.
The Band Pass filter consists of BOTH a Low Pass and a High Pass Filter combined,
so it allows only the frequencies falling within a certain range to pass. Low Pass -This Applies a Low Pass Filter to the
selected part of a file. A low-pass filter eliminates unwanted high-frequency
noise and interference. So, Low Pass means let the lows pass and stop the highs.
High Pass - This Applies a High Pass Filter to the selected part of
a file. A high-pass filter eliminates unwanted low-frequency noise and interference.
So, High Pass means let the highs pass and stop the lows. Low Shelf
- This Applies a Low Shelf Filter to the selected part of a file. A Low Shelf
filter decreases the volume of the higher frequencies and lets the lowest pass.
High Shelf - This Applies a High Shelf Filter to the selected
part of a file. A High Shelf filter decreases the volume of the lower frequencies
and lets the highest pass. Notch - This filter allows a set center
point frequency to be filtered. Peak EQ - This filter causes a
peak or dip in the frequency response at the selected frequency.

The
Track Trackers Menu Explored
Separating Music Tracks
&
Voice Tracks FAST!!!!
The DAK Track Tracker has been the most powerful
way to separate tracks when you copy records and tapes to digital. It's given
you a fast, easy first time every time way to quickly separate tracks into digital
files. It's also the best for separating tracks from Internet recordings that
you've made. It's garnered worldwide acclaim.
Tracking via visual method (highlighted) is the best and fastest
way to separate your tracks. But many of you have special needs so we've added
4 new ways to separate your tracks to give you maximum flexibility.
But remember, the visual method will probably be your best bet most of
the time.
Here are your new choices. Track Via Size Method - Separate a
file into 10ths, 5ths, 1/4s or 1/3rds or in 1/2. Very fast, very handy.
Track Via Sound Method MP3- Listen to the file and click wherever you want
a track. Then the file will be separated into those MP3 tracks. Track
Via Sound/Detect Silence Method - This method is automatic. It 'listens' to
the file and puts in tracks wherever it thinks there's enough silence to mean
there's a track. This method is good for digital Internet recording but won't
work on cassettes and records because there's too much surface noise for it to
tell the difference between soft music and noise. Track Via Time Method
- When you load a file, this Tracker will compute the total number of seconds
and give you 5 choices by number of seconds of how you want it separated.
Track Via Visual Method Preferred
- All the other trackers work great, but this is still what you'll use 90%
of the time for copying records and cassettes. It presents a view of the entire
recoding that looks like an EKG. Where there are flat line parts is where the
tracks will be. Just click on them and then the Track Tracker will create the
separate digital files for you. It works 1st time every time.

Save
As Wav, MP3 Or WMA. Control The Exact Bitrate and
All Parameters As You Save, Fast & Easy.
Don't Panic, normally, all you do with these boxes
is Click OK. But if you want extra control over what you are saving this is the
place to do it. You can save as Wav, MP3, WMA or OGG. Depending on which you chose,
you will get one of the setting boxes above. I've used the same numbering system
on the boxes as they really work the same way. So learn one and you'll have them
all
Arrow 1.) You can choose different frequency response characteristics for
the files you save. Normally, CD quality is set at 44,100Hz. And that's the default.
So leave it there. If you want more or less, just check another box. 48,000Hz
is good, but CDs are 44,100Hz, so there's no point in doing it for CDs as it won't
affect the sound and will increase the file size.
Arrow 2.) For Wave Files you can choose 8 or 16 bit. Normally 16 bit is
standard. For MP3s, the bit rate is far more important. The bit rate really determines
the compression ratio and therefore the file size of the MP3. 128 bit is the standard.
But you can increase it from 8 bit to 320 bit. 8 bit is OK for talking and the
files are so small you can get hours of talking in just a few megs. 320 is just
about as big as a Wav file so there's not much point, except MP3s can have tags
and names. But, you can just leave these settings at their defaults for most uses.
Arrow 3.) Most digital is Stereo by default. You can change it to mono
here.
Arrow 4.) Just click OK and your file will be saved.
Arrow 5.) WMA is different. It's a proprietary Microsoft file format that
we support. You can open this pull down menu and choose settings to suit your
needs. They are described by name, so they are easy, but in short again they are
all about bigger or smaller files to fit in your players.
Now you know all the file types you can save to and how easy it is to totally
control your digital music with DAK's all new Wav & MP3 Editor PRO.

MORE
Extras You Won't Find Anywhere Else.
The Exploration Begins Here
Just Added To DAK's New 6.1 Editor
|
Enhanced Extra 1.
New High Speed Forward &
Reverse Scan/Search Buttons.
 |
I've wanted this for a long, long time. I've put Fast Forward
Fast Reverse Search/Scan Buttons to the right and left of the Play Button. So
after you click play, just hit Forward or Reverse Search/Scan to jump the cursor
5 seconds forward or back while your file is playing. This will save you hours.
When I first added these buttons we put the forward after the stop button. But
it was a pain to reach it. So, I moved the buttons so they nicely bookend the
Play Button and are super easy to use.
Now when you are searching for a spot in your music or narration, you'll find
it much faster. When you are working on a section you're editing, now just hit
Reverse Scan to replay the last 5 seconds any time you like.
Of course if you hit the Reverse Scan again, you go back another 5 seconds. Same
on Forward Scan. Just keep clicking till you get where you want to go.

Loop Play A Selection Or
Play The Whole File With No Pause Forever.
 |
Loop Play/Continuous play is back. We had this in an older editor,
but it wouldn't work in Vista. Now it works in Vista, Windows 7 and of course
XP. Loop play is super useful. You can loop play a selected part of your loaded
file. It can be 1 second or 100 minutes. It will play and play and repeat automatically
without any pause or break at all. So that makes it great for either providing
the sound of a fountain, hearing something you want to memorize or anything you
want to hear over and over again.
Plus there's more. You can loop play an entire file, song, symphony or anything
you like. So load a song and it will play forever without stopping, pausing or
having any break at all.
Loop play is great to have. |

Just use this handy hassle free count down recording interface to record anything
so you won't have to baby-sit your recordings.
Now we've put One Click Access to it on the main interface to make it even easier.
The timed recording isn't a new feature. But getting to it is. Just click the
clock to instantly open the timed recording interface.

New Zoom Out & Use Your Mouse Roller.

 |
Well, Zoom isn't new, but if you compare new 6.1 to the old
5.1 editor you'll find a new Zoom Button. This New Zoom Button is super handy.
What it does is zoom out by increment. You see if you zoom in several times, by
highlighting an area, then highlighting again, you can be really deeply zoomed.
Before, the only zoom out option took you all the way back to showing the entire
loaded file. But now, you can zoom out in the exact same steps that you used to
zoom in. You'll love this new ability.
Plus there's more. You Can Zoom With Your Mouse. See the Mouse in my picture.
If you roll the mouse roller on top, you can zoom in or out in increments too.
Start zooming, you'll find this really makes zooming super easy.
Special Zooming Note: If you aren't zooming in and out as you edit, make
tracks and for just about anything you do, you're really working harder than you
have to. Please give this a try and make editing easy on yourself.

Trim Files Instantly To Keep Just The Part You Want.
This Will Save You Hours.

 |
Trim Button Right Out Of The Studios. Well, I'm not much into
gardening so if you think this is about trimming your roses, sorry, wrong guy.
But what this is about is a new ability I've added in the editor that I had forgotten
about till I playing in one of the studios.
The Trim Button is the opposite of the Delete Selected button. It's a Delete EVERYTHING
EXCEPT what's selected. So highlight a part you want. It can be a track,
a few seconds of a song. Heck it can be anything you have selected.
Then just click Trim and everything BUT what you have selected will instantly
be removed from the editor. And you'll just have the part you want. In the old
days, we used to have you do a Save Select As. Then reload that. But why go to
all the hassle when you can just click Trim? eMail Thingy Note.
Trim is super when you want to send a part of file that you have loaded to somebody.
Just highlight what you want to send, click trim (oh be sure to save the whole
file first so you don't lose it) and that's all there is to preparing something
to send. The new eMail Thingy is the neatest of my new toys. Try it out.

Instant Markers Make Editing Easier
Than Ever Before.
|
OK my new Markers are hot. We've had a marker interface before.
It was accessible through the View Menu. But, it was basic and had to be moved
around. Now you have two buttons right above the Wav Windows. And here's what's
cool.
Just click to Mark a spot while you're listening to the file. Here's what I do.
When I want to make an edit, I listen to the file and when the part I want to
mark is played I click the marker button. It's not important that
I Mark the exact right spot. I just need to be close so I know where to zoom
in and edit out that word, or insert that new part or anything I want to do.
This will save you hundreds of hours. This is a major addition you've simply got
to try. Editing has never been this easy. Use the Check Mark to place your marker
and use the X to Clear all Makers.
Oh, and of course, you can mark spots when the file isn't playing. You can mark
spots when you are zoomed in or zoomed out. You can mark spots any time. And if
you like, you can still access the Marker Interface through the View Menu and
see all the active markers you have. But frankly you can see them right in the
editor. Don't miss out on this. Use the Marker and you'll save hours and make
edits easier than you can ever believe.
Here's a great video where I take out talking before and right in the middle of
the song plus I remove the applause at the end using makers. Watch
this video on editing out obnoxious talking in a song Using Markers.

Easy One Channel Editing Buttons
|
You can edit, just the Left Channel or just the Right Channel
in the DAK editor. But we've always made you move your cursor to the top or bottom
of the WAV window to find the little L or R, then click on it. Now I've added
easy one click buttons right above the Wav Windows to make it easy. You can edit
the Left Channel, The Right Channel, or Both Channels. Just so you
know. When I say you can edit one track or the other, remember that they are
synced so you can't take out something from one or add something to one or it
won't sync with the other channel.
But you can amplify one if it's lower or add effects to get what you want. If
you want to sync two tracks that aren't or up to 3 pair of stereo tracks that
need to be Synced, use the new DAK Super Mixer. It has a nudge screen that gives
you the power to nudge a pair of stereo tracks in milliseconds to sync with other
stereo tracks. It's new we'll explore that in the new programs section.

New Spectrum & Moving
WAV Meters Make Playback Visualization More Accurate & Well, Fun.
|
Now in play, you can see a spectrum meter showing you your playback
sounds. It's not there in record or stop. But during play and pause you'll see
what percent of your music are highs, lows and midrange. It's very cool.
Below the Spectrum meter is a live WAV meter. It's the actual sound in WAV form
which you'll see grow to the right, disappear and start over again. It's easier
to see this type of meter than a standard wave meter, so we added it too. Oh,
and it's super cool too. Arrow 1.) This is the editor during stop
and record. Arrow 2.) Both the Spectrum Meter and the moving Wav
Meter pop up during play and pause to make it easier to analyze your music

Change The Pitch/Key Instantly As It
Plays
|
My New Pitch/key Slider gives you the power to change the
pitch during real time playback. This doesn't change the speed of the file that's
playing. It just makes a voice go up in key or down in key as you slide the slider.
Of course if you push it much it will sound like Donald Duck. But most of the
time you'll use it to alter your music from say A to A# or something like that.
This is in real time so you can alter it for an entire file or just for part of
a file. If you want to sing along, this is great. Plus as you'll see below, we
have a special new built-in recorder so you can capture the new pitch and your
singing or playing at the same time. There's nothing special you need to do, just
slide the slider till you get just the pitch or key you want.
Oh, and if you click the word Pitch, it will return to the default 0 change setting.
Note: This is a really musical control so you can alter the music without
hurting quality at all.

Well now, just slider the Tempo slider up or down and the speed will change in
real-time. Plus, you can alter an entire file, or you can alter just part of a

If you're a DJ you know how important the beat of the music
is. Beat isn't the drum. It's the rhythm of the music. So if you need to match
two songs that you're going to mix. Look here and set the Tempo Slider so that
both tracks have the same beat.
Also, if you have a song, dance or calisthenics routine that needs to be a certain
amount of time. Now just use the Tempo Slider and the Beat counter so you can
increase or reduce the length of the music.
Not all music has a measurable beat. Sometimes this meter will say Beat Unavailable.
You can still use the Tempo Slider, you just can't get an electronic Beat Count.

You Can Record Real Time Any Loaded File
AS IT PLAYS So You Can Adjust The Tempo,
The Pitch/Key And More. This Is Real Time
So You Can Make Changes As The File Plays.
|
OK this is slicker than slick. I've never seen anything like
my new Real Time Playback recorder. Now you can make real-time recordings of anything
in the editor and you can alter what's playing back in real-time as the playback
proceeds and the recording is made. It's fun. It's useful. And it's the only one
on the block I've ever seen.
You can change the key/pitch and tempo in real time. What that means is that if
you want you can speed up or slow down or change the key on just a part of the
file. Just a few words or all of the file. It's all up to you and check this out.
All your changes can be totally variable so you can keep changing them as the
file plays and records.
Plus it's totally automatic. When you click the Record Button and give it a name,
the editor will immediately begin play. And it can automatically begin play of
the entire loaded file or just a selection if you've selected a part of the loaded
file. Plus when the Editor gets to the end of the selection or file, the recorder
will automatically stop on its own. This really is slicker than slick. :)

Added PRO Intros & Exits F-A-S-T!!!
Now Included Intro & Exit Bumper Music.
 |
Now you can have professional Intro & Exit Music for your vocal or musical
masterpieces. If you have speaking files or music files, now I've included some
great Intros And Exits.
These are just short fade in and fade out what are called in the trade Bumper
Music effects. Now you'll find right in the Wav Editor Program Folder, a new Music
Folder. Just go to the music folder to try out these great bumpers.
In your New Edit Menu, at the top you'll find the "Add music to the front
of the file", and "Add Music to the end of the file". Just Click
your choice, choose your Bumper Music and it's automatically placed at the exact
beginning or end of the file.
It's just that easy. But there's more. You can actually put any
music or any file you have instant at the very beginning or very end of your loaded
file. Just go to the edit menu and choose beginning or end and you're all set.
