Rip Fast & Easy
Drew's Simple Ripper Tutorial
So what's a simple ripper and why do you need it? DAK's advanced ripper is a technological marvel. In addition to all the things a ripper should do, we have added things like the Preserve Track Order and more. So, the advanced ripper can take a few extra minutes to do its thing and if for any reason the CD Drive or drivers aren't 100%, it might not work.

So, here's the simple ripper that should work on any Windows computer and doesn't ask very much from the computer. In short, it's fast, easy and even if the computer's a bit out of spec, it will rip your CDs to your hard disc in Wav, MP3 or WMA.

So, I've called this the simple ripper and it just works its little heart out for you without bothering you or your computer. OK, let's explore how to use it.

Rip Fast & Easy On Just About Any Computer.
It's super easy to use. Put in the disc you want to rip and let's get ripping.

Arrow 1.) Nothing you need to do. Your tracks will show up automatically here in the work area of the Simple Ripper. DO THIS. Put in the CD you want to rip in your computer's CD ROM drive. Wait for your computer to recognize it and try to play it or do something with it. Stop that or X out of it. Then open the ripper and you'll see the tracks loaded as you see in this picture at Arrow 1.

Arrow 2.) You can select all tracks to rip or unselect them and choose just a few by checking or unchecking this box.

Arrow 3.) Choose Wave, MP3 or WMA as the format that you want to rip your tracks to.

Arrow 4.) Click the Save To Button and navigate to the folder that you want to rip the tracks to. NOTE: DO NOT TYPE the folder name, you just navigate there.

Arrow 5.) Rip the tracks by clicking on the Extract Button.

Is this easy or what?

Ripping Choices Too.
Simple doesn't mean powerless. You can choose Wav, MP3 and WMA as your ripping choices plus you can choose the ripped bitrate and more.

Arrow 1.) Choose MP3, Wave, WMA or OGG

Arrow 2.) Each format will present a bitrate box for you to choose your preference of settings. I usually rip in MP3 to 128Kbs. But it's up to you what you want to use.

Play Your Tracks.
Not sure which track you want to rip? No problem. Play it and then just rip what you want.

Arrow 1.) Highlight a track you want to play

Arrow 2.) click Play.

Name Your Tracks.
This ripper doesn't name tracks on its own. After all it's the simple ripper. But you can name the files if you like, no problem.

Arrow 1.) Click the Rename Track Button.

Arrow 2.) Enter any name you like and that will be your ripped file name.

Rip Your Tracks Fast.
That's all you need to do. The simple ripper is fast, easy and does a flawless job of making Wave, MP3, WMA and OGG files from the CDs you rip.

Arrow 1.) Click Extract to Rip the tracks to your hard drive.

Arrow 2.) Watch the progress meter move to show you how far along it's finished.

OK, now you know everything you need to know about ripping CDs to your hard drive using the new DAK Simple Ripper.
